Voice Recognition |

|
We have tested new
technology which will be of great value to loss
adjusters and anybody seeking to save time when
dictating information to be typed up on a computer.
We have combined two technologies: (1) Sony ICD-SX20
Recorder, and (2) ScanSoft's NaturallySpeaking 8
Preferred edition software. The total cost for these two
items is $900.
So what does it do? The Sony recorder is a very small
pocket digital sound recorder. You speak into this,
recording for up to four hours. The Sony IC Recorder is
then connected to a computer via a USB cable, and the
sound recording is then transferred to the computer
(using the Digital Voice Editor that comes with the Sony
recorder).
At the click of a button, your voice is then transcribed
into text for editing in word processing software on the
computer. To make this happen effectively requires about
one hour of training the voice recognition software (NaturallySpeaking).
